A visually striking poster created for a ceramics project inspired by natural textures, geological forms, and planetary imagery. Explores texture, composition, and celestial references in a clean editorial layout.

The final design features a grey ceramic plate evocative of the moon, placed in the top-left corner for visual balance. The title is cut from the plate, integrating typography and form, while project details and dates are neatly aligned on the right. This approach emphasizes the natural textures of the clay and creates a strong, modern visual hierarchy.

Concept Exploration

3 alternative concepts exploring different ways to showcase the plates as celestial objects.

Experimented with:
Background color (dark blue, white, black, red)
Plate placement and scale
Halo or glow effects to suggest planets
Typography integration with the artwork

Explored the vase’s wave-like spout and body texture as a visual metaphor for the sea. Used a teal-to-black gradient background to create depth and dimension. Paired a bold serif title with a light sans serif to balance strength and readability while keeping the composition clean and focused.

Focused on the Ceramic Relief rough black interior and bright red crevices to evoke lava. The ceramic reliefe was placed in the top-right for dynamic balance. Title positioned in a stepped manner to create a dynamic visual. Used a bold red-to-dark red radial background to create depth, glow, and dramatic visual impact.

Highlighted the blue ceramic relief’s rough textures to evoke the deep sea. Centered the plate as the focal point and added a surrounding blue glow that darkens outward to create depth. Explored the duality of the sculpture as both sea and planet, giving the composition an otherworldly, celestial feeling.
